The Winter Raffle raised €2260.10 for the school. Thanks to all parents, guardians, staff and friends of the school who worked so hard to make this a success. Once again, the Parent Association is delighted with the very high level of parent involvement in this event. Well done everyone! This money will go directly to improve the condition of the school yard to the benefit of all our children.

Great prizes are on offer in our Winter Raffle. This is the first fundraiser of the year and all proceeds will go towards improving the condition of the school yard. All are welcome to join the fun at Hogan’s Restaurant on Main St., Carrigaline at 8pm on Wednesday Dec. 16th. There will be live music by Maurice McIlwraith, spot prizes and delicious food courtesy of Hogan’s. Tickets cost €5 and will be on sale in SuperValu Shopping Centre on 14th & 15th Dec, as well as through CETNS parents. 1st prize is a trip for two to Rockingham Raceway, U.K. for stunt driving lessons with Sam Maher-Loughnan of Get-the-Drift Driving School, value €435. 2nd prize is five Commando Packs at Combat Zone Paintball Games in Limerick, value €200. 3rd prize is an assessment + 3 sessions of personal training from NM Fitness, Heron’s Wood, value €160. 4th prize is a Munster rugby jersey signed by Lifemi Mafi, value €80. 5th prize is four tickets to see Aladdin at the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork, value €80. 6th prize is a Christmas hamper from Barry Collins’ SuperValu, value €50. 7th prize is a hamper of pampering products, value €50.

Scholastic Books will be in the school on Wednesday & Thursday this week. They’ll set up a book shop in the big room downstairs on the right. Parents will be invited in from 1:30-3:30 each day to buy books. The school will benefit from every euro we spend so please take this chance to do some Christmas shopping! There will be tea & biscuits in the staff room while the shop is open so drop in & enjoy a cuppa while you’re there.

In case of another public sector strike on Thursday, the Book Fair will be rescheduled for Friday instead.

We need two parents to volunteer to take money in the book shop from 1:30-2:30 on each of the days. If you can give an hour of your time, please let Christine know. Thanks!

A block of seats has been reserved for CETNS parents and children at a matinee performance of Aladdin at the Everyman Palace Theatre. A traditional holiday entertainment for the whole family, the pantomime is great fun for adults & children alike. We have been promised a special treat for us after the show – so don’t miss out on the fun! Look for details at school on the notice board and in the school bags or contact the Parent Association for more info.

All parents are welcome to the Parent Association November coffee morning on Thursday 19 Nov. from 9:00-10:30 in the staff room. Drop in any time and bring a treat if you can. Don’t worry if there is too much, the teachers love leftovers! Don’t forget to call in to our Swap Shop across from the staff room. Bring in your unwanted books, clothes, toys, etc. (all clean and in good condition). Help yourself to whatever you want and leave a donation in the box. All money collected goes to the Library Fund. The Department of Education has just approved CETNS’ new location at Rosemount in Heronswood, Carrigaline. This building is a beautiful, purpose-built facility, ideally suited to our needs. CETNS is delighted with the news and looks forward to welcoming parents and children to our new home on the first day of school, August 31st.
