On Friday 10th June 2011 we will be holding an open day for incoming 2011 Junior Infants.  All the details from Mel are below, but if you have any questions please get in touch.

Dear Parents & Guardians,

We are all looking forward to meeting with you on Friday 10th of June.

Please note:
• Our Junior Infant classrooms are both upstairs.
• Deirdre will teach one class next year. Grace will teach the other class
on the 10th but will not be the class teacher in September. We are
following Dept. of Education guidelines and are unable to appoint the
other teacher until later in June. We will notify you when we know the
teacher’s name.
• The class lists will be on the classroom doors, please check for your
child’s name.
• Your child will be in school for 2 hours (10am to 12 noon). Please give
your child a packed lunch.
• While children are with the teachers, you are welcome to stay
downstairs and meet with other parents. Our Parents Association will
provide tea and coffee. Of course, you may leave the school if you
wish.
• School books will be on sale in another classroom. Douglas bookshop
will have everything you need for Junior Infants. They also accept debit
and credit cards.

An enrolment evening for parents will be held at the Carrigaline Educate Together National School on Monday 28th Febraury 2011 starting at 7pm.  The evening is for the parents of children starting in the school in September 2011.

Members of the teaching staff, Board of Management and Parents Association will be on hand to give an overview of the school and answer any questions.  It’s an ideal opportunity to find out more about the ethos of the school and what children and parents can expect.  A further open day for incoming children to attend will be held in June.

The school has gone through a number of rounds of sending out enrolment offers for September 2011.  We are still in the process of sending out offers. If you believe you should have received an offer for September 2011 but haven’t please contact the school.

Carrigaline Educate Together is a young and vibrant National School that has an open approach to enrollment.

Each year we offer enrollment into Junior Infants based on our ‘first come, first served’ enrollment policy.

We are also able to offer places to those who wish to transfer children into other classes within the school (for example in the case where you’ve just moved into the area).  Arrangements can be made directly with the school principal with regards to children enrolling in classes other than Junior Infants.  As a young and growing school we enjoy small class sizes that favours individual learning and participation.

The board of management has recently approved an official enrollment policy for Carrigaline Educate Together National School.

One significant change is that the age requirement for entering Junior Infants is that the child is between 4 and 6 years old.  This differs from the previous policy where for entry from September 2009 children had to be 4 by June 30th.

Pre-enrollment is also now open for 2013.  The basis of our enrollment policy is a first come first served principal, so pre-enrolling is highly recommended.

The initial round of offers for places for Junior Infants starting in September 2009 have been posted.  The offers should arrive within the next couple of days.  Please take the time to carefully read the offer letter and the steps required to enroll.

An enrollment evening for parents is planned for Thursday 5th February at 7.00pm at the school.  This is an opportunity to enrol your child for September 2009 and to meet members of the staff, board of management and parents association.

Enrollment for Junior Infants 2009 will remain open, with offers being sent out on a first come first served basis if spaces become available.

A problem with the pre-enrollment submission form on the website means that some pre-enrollments may not have reached us. 

The problem has now been fixed.  As a result of the problem we’re asking all parents who haven’t received a confirmation from Carrigaline Educate Together to their pre-enrollment submission to re-submit their pre-enrollment as soon as possible. 

We apologies for the any difficulty this causes and thank you for your understanding.  If you’re unsure if you’ve successfully submitted the form please go ahead and re-submit it.  Upon successful submission you should see a pop up box with a confirmation message.

Details of Problem:

The specific problem with the form was the date of birth field.  It only accepted date’s of birth in the formate day/month/year (i.e. 31/12/2005).  Any other formate such as 31-12-2005 or 31-Dec-2005 caused the pre-enrollment submission form to not send us the details.   We’ve changed thedate of birth field so that it now accepts any format for the date of birth.
