There is now the possibility of Educate Together Second-level schools for Cork. The Minister for Education & Skills, Ruairi Quinn TD, has invited Patrons to apply for a number of new schools due to open in 2016.
Two of these schools will be located in Cork, one in Carrigaline and the second in Midleton/Carrigtwohill.
Educate Together will be applying to be patron of these schools and is looking for support in our campaign towards securing them.
A significant part of our application will be proof of support and interest from families and thus we are seeking parents and guardians to fill up “Expression of Interest” forms to indicate their interest in sending their children to an Educate Together second-level school in Cork.
The first and most important thing we are asking is that you might complete the form, the easiest way is online by visiting the following page on our national website;
and also we would request that you might:-
- Spread the word and circulate the link above (and indeed this e-amail if you wish) to friends, family, neighbours, associates, etc, as far and as wide as possible, encouraging parents/guardians to complete expression of interest forms..
- “Like” the national Educate Together Facebook page and “like and share” the posts linking to the second-level campaigns.
- Post in your own social media, Facebook, Twitter, etc drawing attention to the campaign and particularly to the links to the website page which contains the expression of interest form. http://www.educatetogether.ie/
This is some urgency as this be quite a short campaign. Applications need to be in with the Department of Education by the 12th of July so we would ask that you might act without delay. Ideally we would like to have a week prior to the closing day to collate information, fine-tune the applications etc.
You will find more information at Educate Together
Hoping that you will be happy to support us and that we will be successful and that we will soon see our first post primary Educate Together Schools in Cork.
