After School Activities

As the new term gets underway it is time for after-school activities to start again. All classes will meet in the Junior Infants classroom. Be sure to book ahead to secure your place. Contact the class facilitators directly for more information.

Relax Kids, which teaches relaxation, meditation and positive visualisation to children through fun activities, will once again offer 3 sessions on Mondays starting on Jan. 18th: 1:45-2:45 for 4-6 year olds, 2:45-3:45 & 3:45-4:45 for older children. Cork City Music College’s Music Literacy class for 1st & 2nd class continues on Tuesdays at 4:15 from Jan 12th. Tel: 021 431 3211 / www.ccmc.ie

Beginning Feb. 3rd & 5th artist Naomi Fein will offer Animation Club on Tuesdays 2:45-3:45 and Puppet Theatre Club on Thursdays 2:45-3:45. Both activities will involve writing a story and creating characters and puppets. The Animation Club will create a stop-motion animated film with voices and music, while the Puppet Theatre Club will make a stage and present their play at the end. Kinderama, learning through music, movement and imagination games for 4-6 year olds, will continue to meet on Fridays at 1:40, starting from Jan. 15th. Cost: €3.50 per class, paid for in blocks of 4, 6 or 8 classes. Contact Steph on: 086 244 6433 / www.kinderama.com

School closure next week

The Department of Education & Science has taken the decison to close all primary schools for the first three days of next week.   A decision will be taken early next week by the Department as to whether the closure will continue or schools will re-open on Thursday 14th January 2010.
